Product Description:
The 2019 Yale of Beaufort is the seventh release in The Royal Mint’s prestigious Queen’s Beasts series. This historic collection takes its inspiration from the ten heraldic figures that flanked Queen Elizabeth II during her coronation. Each beast represents a key strand of royal ancestry. The Yale of Beaufort symbolises proud defence, heritage, and noble authority.
The reverse of the coin features the mythical Yale, a legendary creature known for its unique ability to swivel its horns in any direction to defend itself. This powerful depiction, crafted by engraver Jody Clark, presents the Yale standing alert while grasping a shield that reflects the Beaufort family’s lineage. The surrounding legend confirms the coin’s purity, weight, and year of issue.
The obverse also carries the work of Jody Clark and displays the fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The traditional inscription reinforces the coin’s legal tender status and its connection to British royal history.
Struck from one ounce of 999.9 fine gold, the 2019 Yale of Beaufort is both a striking tribute to British heraldry and a valuable high purity investment piece. Collectors and investors regard it as a key addition to the Queen’s Beasts series.
